FACTS ABOUT OUR UNIVERSE

Even When You’re Standing Still, You’re Still Moving

A human body, or any object on the Earth, is never at rest. Even when you’re asleep in bed, you’re moving pretty fast. Our Milky Way Galaxy is rotating at 225 kilometers per second, and hurling through the cosmos at an estimated 305 kilometers per second. Add those figures together, and we’re racing through space at around 530 kilometers, or 330 miles per second. So in one minute’s time, you’ve  traveled almost 20,000 kilometers, or more than 12,000 miles. And your friends always complain that you never go anywhere.

There Are at Least 10 Billion Trillion Stars in the Universe

That’s a very big number. When you really think about it, 10 billion trillion stars makes the cult of sun worship seem a little obsolete, although our star, the sun, is very important to us. Without it, life on earth wouldn’t be possible.
Let’s put 10 billion trillion stars into perspective, shall we? For those of you who know a bit of math, that would be 10 to the power of 22 stars, or written out, it would be 10,000,000,000,000,000,000,000. There are probably more stars in existence than grains of sand on all of the world’s beaches. If only 1% of those stars had Earth-like planets, the universe would literally be teeming with life.

One Million Earths Could Fit Inside The Sun

Even though there are a lot of stars out there, none is more important to us than our own sun. When compared to other stars, it’s fairly small, classified as a G2 dwarf star. But that doesn’t mean we’re complaining. Approximately one million Earths could fit inside this dwarf star. It might not be the largest star in the universe, but it gets the job done as far as sustaining life on Earth goes.

Our Galaxy Is on a Collision Course with the Andromeda Galaxy

The Milky Way Galaxy, which is to say our very own galaxy, is on a collision course with our nearest neighbor, the Andromeda Galaxy. Even though these two conglomerations of stars are destined to smash together, you shouldn’t lose any sleep over the incident. The impending impact won’t happen for another 3 billion years. The chances of you being around for that galactic “fender bender” are pretty slim, unless you’re planning to cryogenically freeze yourself or something.

The Earth Is Billions of Years Old

Our planet has been around for quite some time. It’s been around, in fact, for about 4.54 billion years, give or take 0.02 billion years. Life has only been on the planet for a short amount of time, but the variety of life that has crawled, slithered, swam and trod upon the planet is pretty spectacular — from single celled organisms, to giant sharks and snakes, to dinosaurs, to mammals. If that comet coming in 2029 (and again, in 2036) misses the planet, hopefully we’ll thrive here for a long time to come.

FINALLY HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER SEASON 9 IS COMING

The ninth and final season of How I Met Your Mother, an American sitcom created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, premiered on CBS on September 23, 2013, with two episodes, and is set to conclude in the following year. The show was renewed for the final season on December 21, 2012, after cast member Jason Segel changed his decision to leave the show after Season 8. Cristin Milioti, who was revealed as "The Mother" in the Season 8 finale, was promoted to a series regular, the first time How I Met Your Mother added a new regular cast member. Season 9 will consist of 24 episodes, each running approximately 22 minutes in length. Taking place immediately after where the previous season left off, Season 9 will cover the events of a single weekend that lead up to Barney (Neil Patrick Harris) and Robin's (Cobie Smulders) wedding. During the course of the weekend, "The Mother" (Milioti) will separately be introduced to Robin, Barney, Lily (Alyson Hannigan), and Marshall (Segel), before finally meeting Ted (Josh Radnor). The season will also feature frequent flashbacks and flashfowards in order to fully integrate The Mother's character with the rest of the cast. Thomas said in an interview that Season 9 is like "the Wild West - anything can happen". In February 2013, Bays and Thomas teased that Season 9 is "going to be a new way to tell the story". The initial reaction to the new storytelling structure of Season 9 was mixed. Ethan Anderton from Screen Rant was concerned about how "24 episodes of television are going to be crafted from just three days of time",[9] and Alan Sepinwall of HitFix was exasperated that after eight seasons, "They are really going to stretch Robin and Barney's wedding weekend out over the entire final season," though he expressed more optimism after the San Diego Comic-Con panel for the final season. IM SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS!

MILEY CYRUS SMOKING ON STAGE AT EMA

OMG! When it comes to shocking her fans, there are few things Miley Cyrus hasn't tried. But the shock-pop princess took things to a whole new level on Sunday night when she lit up a suspicious-looking cigarette ONSTAGE at the EMA awards at Amsterdam's Ziggo Dome. As she picked up the award for Best Video for her track Wrecking Ball, Miley grinned as she attempted to shove the award into her bag, before pulling out what appeared to be a joint and telling the audience: 'I can't fit it in my bag... but I did find this!' However, the act was deemed so controversial by MTV bosses that it was edited out of the show when it was aired in America. Instead, the two-and-a-half-four show featured only a brief shot of Miley accepting her award and thanking her fans. But a 35-second clip of Miley lighting up later appeared on YouTube, giving US fans a chance to see the controversial moment. In the UK, the smoking footage will be cut from pre-watershed airings of the show, but will be kept in for all broadcasts after 9pm. Marijuana is not legal in the Netherlands, but smokers can't be prosecuted for possessing small amounts and it is sold openly in cafes known euphemistically as 'coffee shops'. Miley's decision to light up on stage did little to impress many of her fans, with people taking to Twitter to comment on the act. One wrote: 'Seriously wtf is wrong with miley cyrus?! Why would you smoke a joint at the ema awards?!' While another added: 'Haha Miley Cyrus is now smoking weed on live TV. What next?' Even This Morning host Eamonn Holmes put in his two cents, writing on Twitter: 'Miley Cyrus raises eyebrows again . At MTV awards she appears to smoke a joint .Tries a bit too hard to be controversial …' It wasn't only Miley's cigarette choice that caused controversy at the awards, however. Arriving at the red carpet bash, Miley shunned a fancy gown in favour of a backless halter top with drawstring detail at the front and sides, with very little protecting her modesty as the audience looked on.

HOW TO DOWNGRADE iOS 7 TO iOS 6

Millions of iPhone, iPad and iPod touch users have been readily updating their firmware to the all-new iOS 7 since it first arrived on September 18th, but much like iOS 6 on the iPhone 3GS, the iPhone 4 struggles to offer the smooth, streamlined experience demanded by iOS 7. For the most part, it’s not particularly problematic, but if you’re rocking 2010′s flagship and would like to revert back to iOS 6, there may be a reprieve around the corner.
As you’ll probably know, you’ll need to have saved your SHSH blobs at some point in the past to make this work. Without it, you’ve no hope and are stuck on iOS 7.

If you’ve stored your iOS 6.1.3/6.1.2 blobs previously for safe-keeping, then check the guide below for a step-by-step to downgrading success. Please note, this guide is for Windows users, and is applicable only on iPhone 4.
Step 1: First up, you’ll need to be running iTunes 11.0.5 or below, so if you’re on a newer version like iTunes 11.1.x, you will need to essentially uninstall it first. This is because starting from iTunes 11.1, Apple has killed the ability to restore to custom firmware files from iTunes. When uninstalling, make sure you remove all traces, including services like Apple Mobile Device, Apple Software Update and Bonjour.
Step 2: After a restart to wash away those traces, download iTunes 11.0.5 from OldApps, or any similar such site [direct link]. Install it, and if you encounter an error relating to "iTunes Music Library.xml", head over to your iTunes Music folder and delete said file.
Step 3: Grab the latest version of iFaith (here), and also download iOS 6.1.3 or download iOS 6.1.2 firmware for iPhone 4, depending on which firmware you have saved blobs for to downgrade to. You will also need to retrieve your SHSH blobs from wherever you have happened to save them locally. If you previously had them saved on Cydia, you can make use of “Show Available SHSH Caches on Server” option in iFaith to save them on your HDD now.
Step 4: Fire up iFaith, and click "Build "*signed* IPSW w / Blobs". This will begin the process of creating your modified firmware file to which you will be downgrading.

Step 5: Locate your SHSH, and then select the stock iOS firmware file that you downloaded inStep 3 above. iFaith will then work its magic and create a custom IPSW.
Step 6: Follow the on-screen instructions to put your device into pwned DFU mode using iFaith’s built-in DFU Pwner:
  • Hold Power and Home buttons at the same time for 10 seconds
  • Release the Power button whilst continuing to hold Home until the screen is blank.
  • Congratulations, you have successfully entered DFU mode.
Step 7. Finally, Load up iTunes, select your iPhone, hold down the left SHIFT key and click onRestore iPhone at the same time, and browse to that custom firmware file created by iFaith. The restore will then proceed.

Once the restore is complete, your iPhone 4 will be back to iOS 6.x.

(at least i dont have my SHSH, shit happens)

iOS 7 is suck

First, it's important to note that it's different. Really different. Many people don't like change, and similar to most software updates, there are kinks. A new Tumblr account called Sloppy UI has even curated issues from users across the web.
Below, take a look at our biggest complaints about iOS 7 so far:
1. Flat UI
iPhone5S
The user interface has gone completely flat, so apps look a lot less like actual buttons. We miss the subtle depth provided by previous iOS versions that made it seem like we weren't just tapping the screen. Flat is so in these days — for example, Bing and Google just rolled out new, flatter logos.
2. Unnecessary Movements
iOS 7 is more gesture-focused than previous versions, and it's fun taking advantage of features such as "swipe to unlock." But there are many animated movements that border on "disorienting." The main offender here is how apps open and close, by zooming in and out of content via diagonal movement. It looks sleek, but at the same time, it creates a dizzying effect.
3. Parallax Effect
iOS 7
The jittery-nature of the parallax effect on the background will give you vertigo. (For example, if you shift your phone from side to side, it will look like the wallpaper is moving behind the apps). The good news is you can turn this off by selecting "reduce motion" in Settings > General > Accessibility > Reduce Motion.
4. Spotlight vs. Notifications
If you want to do an internal search (the Spotlight feature), swipe your finger from the top of the screen downward (anywhere on the display). If you want to see recent notifications, do the same thing but start the swipe at the very top of the screen. It's very easy to confuse the two and bring up one function when you actually want another. Plus, it makes finding Spotlight more challenging, which has been a major complaint for many iOS 7 users.
5. Less Intuitive
Navigating iOS 7 has been far less intuitive than previous iterations. We're still trying to figure out where certain features are hiding and what used to take one click — like closing a new webpage in Safari — takes a bit more work (and if you use the "x" button, instead of swiping the page away, it's just so small).
6. Keyboard Changes
The keyboard has a new look too, and although (stylistically) it's looking good, there are some challenges with its basic functionality. It's difficult to tell when you've capitalized a word or pressed the shift key. In addition, the .com button is no longer in plain view.
7. Battery Issues
Another huge complaint with iOS 7 is that it's a battery suck. The update comes with the Background App Refresh function on, which allows apps to refresh their content when using Wi-Fi or cellular in the background. But it's known to drain your battery. To turn it off, visit Settings > General > Background App Refresh.
8. More Folder Steps
Android users are familiar with this complaint: When you open a folder on the homescreen and then open an app within that folder, hitting the home button will take you back to the folder and not the home screen. When closing out of the app, iOS users are trained to be back at the main screen — but now they have to go through the extra step of leaving the folder. Although this might make sense — you opened the folder, so now you have to close it — it's just adding more steps iOS users aren't used to taking.
9. Charger Issues
iPhone-Charger

We've seen some complaints from users with cheaper, non-Apple chargers who can no longer use them with their device. With the new iOS, this note pops up on screen: "This is not an authorized Apple product and may not be reliable." As a result, you might have to splurge for Apple's original (and more costly) chargers.
10. Battery Notification
When you typically charge your iPhone and the battery is less than 20%, the icon at the top right will switch from red to white when it's plugged in. Now, we've noticed it stays red until it surpasses 20% battery capacity — so you might think you're phone isn't charging when it actually is.
11. No Home Button Swipe
iphone 5s

Everything about the iOS 7 experience is gesture-based, but when you want to go back to the main screen, you have to press the home button — an actual, physical button. When there's a short cut for most things, we'd like to see one for the function we use most.
